A Message From Our Chair
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri was created more than 30 years ago, and since that time, our commitment to enhance health and primary care has been strong and constant. Thanks to the vision and hard work of many dedicated people, we have established ourselves as one of the nation's premier family medicine departments as we lead the way in:
Family Medicine Education: Our department has been built by faculty members who value learning and scholarship. In addition to our residency program, we offer fellowship training. MU Family Medicine faculty members play a vital role in medical school education as well.
Family Medicine Patient Care: Providing excellent health care is a priority for our department. The vigorous clinical orientation maintained by family medicine physicians has had a positive impact on health care in our community, especially for rural and underserved populations.
Family Medicine Research: Motivated by our mission to improve health, our department continually generates diverse and relevant research. Through the years, this research has made important changes in physicians' approach to primary care.
I invite you to view our web site and learn more about family medicine at MU. If you have questions or need additional information, please let us know. We welcome and appreciate your interest in our department.
