Educational Allowance and Professional Fund
A departmental fund provides more than $2,000 per resident to help defray professional expenses during their residency.

Laptops
Residents receive convertible notebook laptops.

Medical and Dental Insurance, Vision Plan
Individual or family policies are available to residents on a cost-sharing basis through the University of Missouri.

Disability and Life Insurance
Basic disability and life insurance are provided to residents with more benefits available at low cost.

Moonlighting Opportunities
Moonlighting opportunities are available for second- and third-year residents.

Meals/Mileage
Our hospital has a physicians-only lounge that provides meals for breakfast and lunch as well as while on call. Residents who practice at our rural clinics are reimbursed for their mileage.

Certifications
Residents earn life support certification in specialized areas including ACLS, ALSO, ATLS, NRP, and PALS. The department provides funding for certification courses.

Miscellaneous
Residents have access at the staff rate to MizzouRec, which Sports Illustrated has ranked the #1 student recreational center in the country. Residents also receive staff rates to MU's cultural and sports events and a discount at University Bookstore.

Malpractice Insurance
Malpractice insurance is provided at no cost to residents for activities associated with the residency program.
