Individualized Pathways for Residents

HOW TO BUILD YOUR IDEAL RESIDENCY

YOU START WITH A SOLID FOUNDATION.
Our department has a national reputation for excellence. We have been ranked one of the top three family medicine programs in the nation for the past 15 years.

Our faculty is one of our principal strengths. We have more than 40 full-time faculty members with a diverse set of interests and skills. A common interest is their commitment to teaching.

Our program truly offers the "best of both worlds." We enjoy all the resources of a large university and hospital, without losing the experience of working one-on-one with faculty in rural hospitals and clinics.

MU has a long tradition of producing excellent family physicians. Our 347 graduates practice in multiple types of settings in nearly 36 different states. Included among our alumni are several family medicine chairs and residency directors.

Our resident partnership pairs you with a fellow resident for all three years. Partners learn from each other and provide emotional and professional support. The partnership also allows for flexibility in scheduling and call.

Our residency is a dynamic and resident-centered program. Residents play a major role in the vision and leadership of the residency.

THEN YOU PERSONALIZE IT.
We offer Individualized Pathways that allow you to target specific interests and skills. In these Pathways you will work with a faculty member who is a specialist in your chosen field.

INDIVIDUALIZED PATHWAYS are available in the following areas:

  • Geriatrics
  • Obstetrics
  • Rural Medicine
  • Research/Academics
  • Option to create your own

Call Blair Harris to help you personalize your interview day to your needs and interests.
