Criteria for International Medical Graduates: 2008-2009

  • You must have:
    • Graduated from medical school in the past two years OR
    • Currently be in a residency program OR
    • Currently be in a full-time clinical practice (does not have to be in the United States)
  • You must hold a valid ECFMG certificate by January 1, 2009
  • We ask that you have your visa or can obtain one before the program start date (J1 preferred) *see H1B specifics below
  • You must have a strong commitment to and evidence of experience in family medicine
  • You must be able to speak fluent English
  • We will accept ERAS applications through January 1, 2009
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a minimum test score requirement?
No, we review your entire application including dean’s letters, letters of recommendation and so forth.

Do you have a limit on how many times each step was taken?
No, we review your entire application.

Do you sponsor H1B visas?
We will review H1’s on an individual basis; however, you must pass Step 3 by February ranking to qualify.

Do you offer observerships/externships?
No, we do not.
