Residency Training Sites
Continuity Clinics: Residents have their private practice clinic in one of four family medicine clinics.
- Green Meadows Family Medicine Clinic resembles a metropolitan group practice. Located minutes
from University Hospital, this clinic draws most of its patients from the Columbia area. Residents
learn to work in a busy suburban clinic.
- Callaway Physicians is in Fulton, a community of 10,000 located 25 miles east of Columbia. This
rural practice provides comprehensive and continuing health care to a large and diverse patient population.
All residents have an inpatient experience at Callaway Community Hospital, which is located across the
street from our Fulton clinic.
- Fayette Medical Clinic is in Fayette, a town of 2,800 located 30 miles northwest of Columbia. This
rural practice provides a wide spectrum of family medicine services. Residents gain valuable experience
in Fayette, understanding the importance of a rural clinic with no hospital in town.
- Family Health Center is a federally funded community health center established to expand primary
care services to uninsured and underinsured patients in the Columbia area. Residents provide medical
and social care to this diverse set of patients, including a significant number of expectant mothers
and Spanish-speaking patients.
Inpatient Training: Residents train at three area facilities.
- University of Missouri Health Care
is a 226-bed hospital that offers a wide range of services, and is the only level I trauma
center in Mid-Missouri. We have a busy two-team inpatient service with FM faculty as attendings.
This is also where we take care of our Pediatric and ICU patients.
- Callaway Community Hospital
is a 49-bed hospital with an ER, labor and delivery suite, and full range of inpatient and
outpatient services. Located across the street from our Fulton clinic, Callaway Hospital
provides important training opportunities to family medicine residents.
- Columbia Regional Hospital,
a 249-bed MU Health Care hospital, is located in east Columbia. This houses the newly built
Family Birthing Center where our obstetric service is located.
